EFCC operatives have arrested Umar Ajiya Isa, a former Chief Financial Officer of NNPC Limited, over suspected fraud.

Sources at EFCC headquarters in Abuja revealed his arrest relates to an alleged $7.2 billion scandal involving the rehabilitation of the Kaduna, Warri, and Port Harcourt refineries.

The EFCC is also holding Jimoh Olasunkanmi, the former Managing Director of Warri Refinery, in connection with the same case.

Investigators are probing Ajiya and other key NNPC officials for allegedly mismanaging funds, abusing their positions, and receiving kickbacks from contractors during the Turn Around Maintenance of the refineries.

The investigation also names Tunde Bakare, former MD of Warri Refinery; Ahmed Adamu Dikko and Ibrahim Monday Onoja, both former MDs of Port Harcourt Refinery, as persons of interest.
